Customize your Study Tour

MLI language classes are customized to different themes such as Canadian Culture, Environment, Science, Multiculturalism, Leadership, Presentation Skills Development, and more.

MLI language classes are not simply focused on regular grammar or vocabulary. Rather, the classes are customized to different themes such as Sustainable Development Goals, Environment, Science, Multiculturalism, Leadership, Presentation Skills Development, and more. Students will learn about different subjects in their class, and gain practical experience from the activities chosen for the programme. For example, students might learn about First Nations in Canada in class, and they will visit a local First Nation Heritage site to enhance their learning. Classes can be customized to meet the needs of the beginner student to the very advanced student. Teachers are all experienced professionals with experience in teaching language and communication skills to international students.

CLOSED

Canadian students will assist visiting students in their classes, during activities and excursions. Visiting students will be encouraged to gain confidence in their communication skills.

During the summer months or school breaks, MLI enhances your group experience with Canadian students who can join your group for the full duration or just part of the programme. Nature and Eco Program

MLI has partnered with local camps and outdoor recreation facilities to create educational, challenging and inspiring eco programmes for international student groups.

Each programme is customized to the time of year, location and local community. Programmes can include studies of ecology, preservation, and respect for the environment. Activities may include Orienteering, Nature Walks, Eco Crafts, Environmental Research to name just a few.

First Nation Studies

MLI student groups are encouraged to learn all about Canada’s history and a key part of their learning can take place in one of the many First Nations historic sites.

Students learn about the rich traditions, language and beliefs and can take part in song, dance and art that are specific to the local community.

Special local activities

Each community that MLI study tours visit has their own unique heritage, special events, cultural significance and natural beauty. We will help your group arrange special Canadian experiences.

Our student groups have been able to enjoy the unique experience of participating in local festivals, seeing first-hand how Maple Syrup is made, visiting local farms and interacting with organizations very unique to the community where the programme is taking place.

Sightseeing

Canada is a country full of beautiful natural attractions and places of historical significance. Our coordinators are available to assist you with any necessary travel arrangements.

Whether you want to take a trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver or visit an outdoor education centre or enjoy an outdoor adventure in one of our protected parks — we can help.

Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the United Nations set out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve a more sustainable future. SDGs are a universal call to action to, among other things, eliminate hunger, reduce inequalities, and protect the planet. Canada is a leader in working towards many of the goals, such as Quality Education (SDG #4), Gender Equality (#5), and Sustainable Cities and Communities (#11). Japan is also a leader, especially with the goals of Quality Education (#4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (#8), and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (#9). In this program, students learn about actions both countries have taken to accomplish the UN’s SDGs. Our customized program offers a wide variety of thematic activities that allow students to think critically about their own behaviours and role in tackling social and environmental issues.

MLI Study Tours

Customized Group Tour

MLI can customize a group tour to meet the needs, interests, and special focus of your group. MLI Group Coordinators will assist you with designing a unique study tour for your group programme using the information that you provide about your school, desired locations to visit, length of stay and group budget. We offer many types of programmes and can include special and unique elements such as:

Homestay

Living with a local family is the ideal way to integrate into Canadian culture. Visitors become a true member of the family and the community and participate in all the activities of daily life and practice their English.

Each family has a strong interest in welcoming an international visitor into their home and is eager to provide a friendly, supportive and nurturing environment. Families believe that hosting a student is a rewarding and unique experience that will not only enrich the life of the young student, but that of their family’s as well. Host families come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and circumstances. We enlist a wide range of suitable families as hosts including: retired couples, single parent families, traditional nuclear families with two parents and children, and childless families.

Dormitory

Participants staying at a dorm of a private school, university or college will enjoy the benefits of a secure and diverse environment in an academic setting. The layout and size of the dorm room will vary depending on the location and facility you choose. Students might share a room or the bathroom, but each will have their own bed. Many campuses have beautiful grounds and students have the opportunity to participate in sports and activity programmes on-site. Meal plans can be customized to suit the needs of the group. The group will be required to comply with any restrictions that are in place at the facility regarding age, and number of accompanying adults for overnight supervision.

Camp

There are many camp locations across Canada that are available to host student groups on beautiful, spacious grounds in natural settings. Some camps are located on or near lakes, and have facilities and equipment that allow students to participate in various sports. Students would share cabins or have a bed in shared rooms in dormitory buildings; and share bathrooms. Full meal programmes and activity programmes are available to customize to your group’s needs. Many camps are heated and available to host groups in the winter. A camp setting is a wonderful choice for groups that are interested in environmental learning and eco-study programs.
