Veronica Duperly, High School Program Coordinator

Veronica Duperly, High School Program Coordinator

Hi! My name is Veronica Duperly, but almost everyone calls me Vero, you can call me either!

I will be your High School Coordinator for the upcoming school year and I’m so excited to go on this academic journey with you. Get ready for lots of laughter and fun but also challenges and obstacles that together we will experience.

I was born in Colombia but came to Canada when I was just 9 years old! As Canadian as I am, I still love and embrace my Colombian culture very much. I studied in a Canadian high school in a very small town outside of Toronto called Georgetown. One of my favorite parts of high school was being involved in school activities like the rugby team and the school music band, but my favorite was making friends and specially friends who were international. I enjoyed learning so much about their cultures but also being able to share my Canadian and Colombian culture with them. I then went on to study at York University and Humber College and now get to do an amazing job as your Coordinator at CISS MLI and help share all that Canada has to offer you!

In my spare time I enjoy going to concerts a lot as I love music of all kinds, travelling the world when I can, spending time with friends and family, and relaxing at home with my two beautiful cats (Pilgor & Lilo). I’m quite passionate about animals and always volunteer every year with our local OSPCA to do their Friends For Life! Walk to raise money for the shelters, donate items in need like food and blankets, and pay for adoption fees for animals so they can easily get adopted into wonderful homes.

This is just a little bit about me. Please remember that I’m here to support you through your time in Canada and you can connect with me now or after your arrival so we can get to know more about each other. I am really looking forward to meeting you soon.
